Growing grapes and producing wine started over one hundred fifty years ago, when you could find over 60 wineries with a total area of 35,000 acres where grapes were produced. These days, there are three wineries in the area and they are operations that are owned by families, which have an intimate feel. They all offer tasting rooms and tours, where you can sample the wine and get the chance to ask questions from one of the family members that owns the winery.

The San Antonio Winery has its tasting room located on the Milliken Avenue and 60 Freeway, which is located a quarter hour from the International Airport of LA/Ontario. Here you will be able to enjoy for free the best wines that California has to offer. Their gift shop offers a large number of different wines and gift baskets that are nice. Joseph Filippi Vineyards & Winery – this family has grown vineyards and made wine since the 1922’s and they’re very well known in the area and the community of wine makers. Today, the fourth generation of the family has a number of awards given for excellence and one of them is the LA County Fair prize for Wines of America. You can taste wine on a daily basis and you can visit with large groups as well, as long as you make an appointment. They also have an art gallery and a gift shop, as well as a banquet room which can be reserved if you call and inquire about it.
